Pastor's Pen: Joy to the World

Posted

“Joy to the world! The Lord is come; let earth receive her King: Let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing.”

Despite the fact that Christmas is now behind us for another year, for many people they are still feeling the effects from the holiday or maybe there was no Christmas for them. The credit card bills are starting to roll in and what little joy they might have experienced is just a faded memory. For those who are elderly, lonely, unemployed, homeless, financially strapped, have poor health, some people may feel oppressed and depressed as well as many other things, their main concern is just keeping their families fed and/or even together.  For them it is hard to find joy even in the Lord.  We need to remember that the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus Christ and that He came to earth to save us from our sins. In Him is where we find the true meaning of the season. In Him we have hope, joy, love, inner peace, grace and salvation. He understands and knows better than anyone what we are going through. Jesus is the Light of the World.

Have you prepared your heart to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?  If not it is never too late to do so! His salvation is free to all who receive him; just ask him to come into your heart and he will. After all, Jesus is the Reason for all Seasons!
