Helen Stewart of Roscoe, a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday May 2, 2023 at her beloved home/farm. She was 93. 

The daughter of the late James H. and Katie Stoesser Wilcox, she was born Dec. 20, 1929 in Fremont.

She and her husband Ken ran a successful dairy farm for over 40 years. Her passion was touching the lives of the community through the Roscoe Presbyterian Church as a deacon, elder, choir member and organizer of the rummage sale, various luncheons, and the food pantry. Helen especially enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking (what grew in her garden and desserts) for family, friends and strangers. She had been a school teacher in the Pre-K program for over 20 years in the Roscoe Central School District. She was a 4-H leader and a Cub Scout den mother for several years. Helen was also an avid election inspector for the town of Rockland.

Survivors include her son, Gary Stewart and his wife Jean of Baldwinsville; daughters Sharon Beuth and her husband Larry of Greene, and Bonnie Young and her husband Leigh of Riverhead; her sister Rose Hendrickson of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, Michael Beuth and his wife Carol, Brianna Kaminski and her husband Theo, and Sean Stewart; and four great-grandchildren, Sam, Aurora, Caleigh and Eva.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Stewart, on May 5, 2022; a brother Harry Wilcox, and sister Shirley Bunt.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. in the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, Old Route 17, Roscoe. Pastor Sharon Branning will officiate.

Burial will be Saturday, June 3, at 10 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe.
