Hunting over bait pile leads to arrest

On Sept. 11, the second day of the early black bear hunting season, New York State Environmental Conservation Police Officers Nathan Doig and Jared Woodin issued a ticket to a hunter in Hamden for unlawfully harvesting a black bear and hunting over a pre-established bait pile. The bear was confiscated and donated. The unnamed hunter will answer the tickets in Hamden Town Court.
