Kathleen W. Carpenter, 75, of Victor, passed away Friday evening, July 22, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family.
Kathleen was born on Oct. 11, 1946 in Teaneck, N.J., the daughter of the late Dr. Harry J. and Veronica (Behr) Wilbur. On Feb. 17, 1968, she married Joseph M. Carpenter III at St. John the Baptist Church in Walton.
Kathleen graduated from Walton High School (‘64) and earned a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University (‘68). She was a teacher and a mentor. However, where Kathleen excelled was in providing a loving, stable, and supportive home for her sons and husband. Her faith and her service to others were great, but her commitment to her family saw no equal.
She is survived by her loving family, her husband Joseph, two sons Joseph M. (Elizabeth) Carpenter IV of Westport, Conn., and Matthew J. (Julie) Carpenter of Rochester; grandchildren Corey, Abigail, Gabe, Jane, Joseph V, Daisy, Madeline and John; one brother, Dr. Harry J. Wilbur of Delmar; a sister, Sheila Witkowski of Fairport, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives were invited to call Wednesday, July 27 at the Courtney Funeral Come, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Thursday, July 28, at 11 a.m., St. John The Baptist Church, 25 Benton Avenue, Walton, with Rev. Edward Golding, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery, Fancher Avenue.
