Participation sought in regional need assessment/survey

Posted

The Community Foundation for South Central New York (CFSCNY) partnered with Horn Research, LLC to complete a regional community assessment focused on mental health, housing, poverty, non-profit capacity and equitable access to resources.

To better understand the issues facing the communities served and to efficiently and effectively make investments to strengthen them, CFSCNY performs a comprehensive need assessment every five years. The most current data available from the census, regional plans, community assessments and surveys are combed through and analyzed.

CFSCNY Executive Director Tina Barber said each assessment looks at five areas of interest that have been identified by work in the field with non-profits, municipalities and educational institutions.

The foundation’s intent for our communities is to utilizes the data and recommendations found in the assessment in their own planning and grant-writing activities. It should also be used to identify areas of concern that communities can partner with CFSCNY and others to leverage funding, build capacity, address problems and build on strengths. The assessment is organized by county and for Delaware County can be accessed by visiting donorswhocare.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Delaware-CFSCNY-Needs-Assessment_2024.pdf
