Ronald K. More passed from this life on July 11, 2022.

Ron was born on January 17, 1932, the son of William E. and Verna Ruoff More at the More Brothers Farm on East Brook, Walton. Ron attended East Brook District 12 School completing eight grades in seven years, graduated from Walton High School and received his associate degree from State University of New York at Delhi.

He was retired from Kraft General Foods, Walton, with 37 years of service as transportation office manager. Following retirement he moved to Fairfield, Iowa. Interested in politics, he was a member of the town of Sidney and Delaware County Republican Committees and the Jefferson County, Iowa, Republican Central Committee. In connection with his interest in the old car hobby, he worked with Walton Booster Club and the annual Walton Car Show for 20 years, having helped initiate the event in 1980. He published in the National Nostalgic Nova and the National Impala Association club magazines cover with features detailing his experiences with antique autos.

Ron was an adherent of the Presbyterian and Lutheran faiths of his ancestors, and lastly was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, Iowa.

Ron is survived by nieces and nephews Julie and Dale Stephens, Joan and Mel Allen, Jennifer Linn Howland, Thomas and Jolyn Howland, and David Howland;

grand-nieces and grand-nephews Mason, Jaxen Romain, and Casey Allen, Emily, Sara, Lindsey and Liam (twins), and Ashlyn Howland; and good friends David Herzfeld and Mike Metz. Also surviving are cousins Marie Webber, Jolene More Harvey, Jane More Miller and Jacqueline Hobbie.

He was predeceased by his brother and best friend Edwin R. Howland Jr., his parents William E. More and Verna R. Howland, stepfather E. Romain Ted Howland Sr., double cousin Herman A. More, cousin Carl Ruoff and Harriett Caton.

He leaves his cat Nella, and was predeceased by Maizey, Marcie, Marvin and Talley.

A celebration of life was held Friday, July 15 at the old First Presbyterian Church, Fairfield Iowa, with Reverends Joseph Phipps and Michael Metz officiating. A service of committal will be held at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton, Thursday, July 21, at 1 p.m. with his cousin Reverend Bert More officiating.
