WALTON - Walton Central School graduate Eve Foster, 18, was crowned 2024 Miss Delaware County Fair following a pageant Friday, Aug. 2 - one of the many events held to ring in fair week.
Foster was one of three contestants this year. Other contestants included Foster’s sister Raegan Foster, 15, and Aurora Siniscalchi, 19, also from Walton.
The contestants are close friends, said pageant organizer Carol Davis. Because there were only three contestants for the 2024 pageant, a runner-up was not crowned.
The pageant began with each contestant joining judges for a brief, private interview where they learned more about each contestant, their interests, favorite parts of the fair and more, to help judges score contestants on their personalities. Following the interview was a shorts competition, where each contestant was outfitted in a white top, denim shorts, and boots, and modeling their outfits.
Following the shorts competition, contestants changed into their best formal wear and modeled gowns as the final portion of the pageant.
Foster was ultimately crowned by 2023 Miss Delaware County Fair Lillie Schmitz, who was there to crown the 2024 winner but also provide guidance and encouragement to contestants. Miss Delaware County Fair from 2022, Chloe Davis, also offered guidance and encouragement to contestants.
