DELHI - The layered history of the Catskills — from the folklore of Rip Van Winkle to the legacy of Franklin D. Roosevelt — will be the subject of a public presentation later this month at the Delaware County Historical Association.
On Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m., author and editor Dr. Bill Birns will discuss his latest work, Peter Pan in the Catskills & Other Historical Essays, a newly released volume from Purple Mountain Press. The book gathers a range of essays exploring the region’s cultural and environmental history, including its artistic traditions and ancient forests.
The 264-page collection, illustrated with color photographs and artwork, will be available for purchase at the event. Dr. Birns is scheduled to sign copies following the presentation.
Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The program will be held at DCHA, 46549 State Highway 10. Additional information is available by phone at 607-746-3849 or by email at dchadelhi@gmail.com
