The Adirondack (ADK) Susquehanna chapter is expanding its popular Saturday hiking program after a successful inaugural year in 2025. Designed for experienced hikers seeking longer, more physically demanding treks, the program will offer ten hikes from April through October 2026.
Last year’s pilot featured seven monthly hikes on the third Saturday, drawing more than 80 participants overall. Hikes ventured into new areas with greater distance and elevation than the chapter’s regular Tuesday excursions. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunches, and group sizes were capped at 20 to ensure safety and manageability.
The 2026 schedule balances visits to well-loved sites with explorations of previously uncharted trails. Preregistration is required, with participant limits ranging from 20 to 25 depending on the hike. Hike leaders will provide detailed instructions three weeks prior to each outing. Participants are advised to bring packed lunches, snacks, and sufficient water, as well as appropriate clothing and gear for variable weather and trail conditions.

• April 18: Catskill Scenic Trail, Roxbury to Stamford
