The Susquehanna Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club is inviting hikers, paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts to join a month of guided excursions across the region in June.
The chapter’s schedule includes weekly hikes, a paddle outing and a summer potluck gathering, with destinations ranging from local nature preserves to state parks and lakes.
The June lineup begins with a June 2 hike at Windswept Acres in DeLancey, followed by a June 9 outing on the Star Field Trail in Cooperstown.
Members will gather June 10 for a monthly potluck at Gilbert Lake State Park featuring Brooks chicken for Adirondack Mountain Club members.
Additional outings include:
• June 16: Mine Kill State Park, North Blenheim
• June 20: Plotter Kill Preserve in Schenectady County; preregistration required
• June 23: Kelly Hollow Trail near Margaretville
• June 30: Hike and paddle outing at Goodyear Lake in Maryland, New York
Organizers said the Tuesday hikes are generally designed as shorter, easier walks over flat or rolling terrain at a relaxed pace, unless otherwise noted.
The chapter also holds monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month. Summer meetings, held June through August, take place at local parks, while winter meetings are hosted at Elm Park United Methodist Church in Oneonta.
Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate gear, water and clothing suitable for outdoor conditions. The organization also encourages carpooling to reduce carbon emissions.
Additional information, including outing details and schedules, is available through the Susquehanna Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club by calling the hike line at 607-431-8010.
