Superintendent’s honors student June Petersen, daughter of Tracy and Rasmus Petersen is the Class of 2026 Andes Central School (ACS) Valedictorian. June attended Beachwood High School for two years before coming to ACS and was originally from England with European citizenship. She loves to draw, write, and learn more about animals and dinosaurs.

June may possibly focus on art or paleontology in a European college in the near future and hopes to travel to Japan. She loves her cat, Hanako (Hannah-ko) and her dog, Sunny, as well as Jacee the Shih Tzu. June has wanted to be an animator for years and still hopes to achieve that goal.

She’d like to thank her late grandfather, Donald Vorisek, for the person she is today.

Salutatorian of the Andes Central School Class of 2026 is Gabriellah Bene, the daughter of Jessica Bene of Andes and Cory Bene of Downsville. She has attended ACS since her prekindergarten year in 2012. Throughout high school Gabriellah has been actively involved in extracurricular activities including Outdoor Club, Ski Club, National Honor Society, and Student Council. She has also participated in multiple sports, including softball, basketball, tennis, and soccer, demonstrating commitment, teamwork, and perseverance.

Gabriellah will be graduating with a total of 24 college credits. She has been inspired by Mr. Edward McGee and Mrs. Lauren Green, who helped her develop a strong interest in science and mathematics.

She will attend Hartwick College in the fall of 2026, where she will pursue a degree in nursing with the goal of becoming a registered nurse. Throughout her high school career, she has earned numerous academic and athletic awards in recognition of her hard work and accomplishments.
