DELHI — Bushel will host a screening of Stranger Than Paradise, Jim Jarmusch’s 1984 independent classic, on April 11, pairing the film with a live musical performance.

The event, part of the Ciné Sonica series curated by composer and pianist Mihoko Suzuki, will feature a five-member ensemble performing a live-to-picture score alongside the film. Musicians include Paul Geluso, Evan Jagels and Blake Fleming, with guest vocalist Yolanda Bush.

Shot in stark black-and-white, the film follows a trio of drifters in a minimalist, deadpan style that helped define American independent cinema. Its recurring theme, “I Put a Spell on You,” originally performed by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, will be woven into the live score.

Doors open at 7 p.m. at Bushel, 106 Main Street, with the performance beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for those under 18, with limited seating available.
