Author Holly LaBarbera will introduce her debut novel, All I Know, at the Cannon Free Library, Wednesday, July 24 at 1 p.m.

The novel tells the story of a young woman who overcomes childhood trauma and tragedy to build a life with the boy she’s always loved. While writing the book, LaBarbera made use of her extensive knowledge and experience to explore the complexities of romantic relationships as well as those within families and among friends, showing that love comes in many forms, including choosing to love oneself.

LaBarbera is a psychotherapist and an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University’s School of Counseling Psychology, guiding graduate students in becoming licensed therapists. She was born in Hawaii, grew up in Stony Point, and now lives outside of San Francisco. She loves reading and writing and is old-school in both, enjoying the feel of a book in her hands and regularly sending handwritten letters and cards, much like her debut novel’s protagonist, Kai.

LaBarbera is at work on her third novel.
