Bears are already becoming active with the recent warm weather. As bird feeders can be an attractant to hungry spring bears, now would be a good time to take down winter bird feeders to avoid possible conflicts. DEC recommends winter bird feeders be taken down annually by April 1 as bear activity rapidly increases by the end of March.
