Area beef producers are invited to a fall beef meeting Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at ONC BOCES Grand Gorge, 2020 Jump Brook Road, Grand Gorge.
The evening will begin with a catered beef dinner at 6 p.m., followed by presentations at 6:30 p.m. focused on one central theme: record-keeping. Organizers say the program will take an in-depth look at what records to keep, how to keep them and how to use those records to inform management decisions and improve herd performance.
The meeting will include a demonstration of several record-keeping tools, including CattleMax, Breedr and spreadsheet programs such as Excel and Google Sheets.
The cost is $10 per person, payable at the door. Participants are asked to register by Dec. 1 by calling Kim Holden at 607-510-7126 or emailing kmh19@cornell.edu
