Fribley blends her nonprofit expertise, passion for birding, and commitment to disability rights to advance accessible birding. Inspired by her personal experiences with PTSD and limited mobility, she champions adaptive birding and the Birdability Map. Residing in Iowa City with her wife and cats, she advocates mindfulness through nature.
Rose, a wheelchair user since a spinal cord injury at age 14, started birding 17 years ago and discovered empowerment in nature. A retired English teacher, she leads accessible birding outings, fostering joy and community for those with mobility challenges. Together, they redefine inclusivity in the birding world.
