Daxtin Nichols and Chaz Epps, of Walton, were awarded blue belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tuesday, Oct. 29. The students demonstrated and performed the requirements of blue belt level by black belt instructor Trevor Stroman and Rick Stroman and brown belt instructor Bjorn Eilertsen. Blue belt level typically takes about two years of training to accomplish.
Requirements to achieve blue belt level: “Honing defensive skills, escaping unfavorable positions, and transitioning between techniques becomes crucial. These fundamental ideas set the stage for them to understand the game of Jiu Jitsu, preparing them for more advanced techniques in the journey ahead.”
The students train in Walton at The Depot.
