BAINBRIDGE - Blue Tonic will perform Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre, bringing a mix of blues and blues-inspired music influenced by rock, folk, country, jazz and honky-tonk.

The band’s repertoire for the performance will trace the history and range of the blues, from early Delta blues to Chicago and Texas blues. The set will include music associated with artists including Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Louis Armstrong, Hoagy Carmichael and Bob Dylan.

Blue Tonic has performed together for about six years. The group’s members came together through previous musical collaborations and share an interest in music that is enjoyable to play and hear, with a volume level that allows audiences to listen and talk with friends.

The band features Steve Eisenberg on vocals, harmonica, flutes and percussion; Tom Biller on guitar and vocals; Earl Arnette on bass guitar and vocals; and Chris Ritter on drums and percussion.

The musicians bring a range of musical backgrounds to the group. Eisenberg began playing traditional Irish music and has spent the past 15 years performing blues, old-time music, country, bluegrass, show tunes and other music. Biller incorporates guitar techniques including slide, tremolo, reverb and echo into the band’s blues, country and jazz-influenced sound.

Arnette provides bass and vocals and previously played in southern rock bands. Ritter has performed in blues, rock, jam, country and jazz groups since he was 14.

The name Blue Tonic was inspired by a B.B. King quote: “Blues is a tonic for whatever ails you.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door, or reservations can be made by calling 607-288-3882.

The theatre gallery will feature the fifth annual Photography Show that evening. The gallery will open at 6 p.m. before the performance and remain open through intermission. Admission to the gallery is free.
