It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Brian E. Robinson, 83, of Walton, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City.
He was born April 25, 1943 at Smith Hospital, son of Myron E. Robinson and Laura E. Pierce of Walton.
Brian graduated from Walton Central School Class of 1961 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965. He was sent to boot camp at Fort Dix, Mercer, New Jersey and was deployed after basic training to South Korea, then honorably discharged in 1967.
He married the love of his life, widow Elizabeth (Dunshee) Hall Jan. 27, 1968, in Afton, becoming not only a devoted husband but also a loving stepfather to four young girls. He and Liz lived their lives together in Bainbridge where they enjoyed 33 years of marriage.
After his service with the U.S. Army, Brian was employed by the Great American where he proudly worked until his retirement in 2001. During his time in the grocery business Brian made many friends and fostered a warm environment for all customers.
Brian was known for his love of his family and being incredibly proud of his daughters and their beautiful families, but his greatest love was for his grandchildren. Many nights were spent attending sporting events and fostering a love of sport in each and every one of them.
Brian will be remembered for his devotion to family and friends and his love for the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. A lifelong fan of both clubs he could often be seen donning a hat or jacket of his favorite team.
He is survived by his daughters Jeannie (David) and Amy (Reginald); his beloved grandchildren Cheryl, Bridget (Tom), Theresa (Jonathan), Lisa, Edwin, Erica, Colleen (Eric), Brandon (Jessica), Jessie, Jessica (Luis) and Allen; his niece Jodi Supernault (Bill), and many great-grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law Jan and Barb Robinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and of course his loyal companion Charlie and special friends Doug Snyder, Doug Furman, and Dick Layton.
He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth; parents Myron and Laura, and stepfather Irvin Biedekapp; daughters Carolyn and Cindy; his step-grandson Mike, and his dogs Sadie and Molly.
In honoring Brian’s wishes there will be a graveside service with military honors at the Walton Cemetery Saturday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. We welcome anyone who would like to attend to come celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, 46610 NY-10, Delhi, NY 13753, in the Robinson name.
A special thank you to the entire staff at the Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, and the Courtney Funeral Home’s staff for their help and services during this very difficult time.
