Cattle Handling Systems Tours Nov. 7

Posted

Cattle handling facilities make many things easier and safer on the beef farm. Beef farm businesses are welcome to visit two locations in Delhi where updated cattle handling facilities have been incorporated.

Both tours are Saturday, Nov. 7, and first scheduled is at 10 a.m. at Riverdale Farm, 48018 Hwy. 10, Delhi, with the Frisbee family who has a commercially manufactured chute with sweep. Additionally, the John May Farm Safety Fund will be explained.

At 11 a.m., Scott Rasmussen at Sydetta Farm, 835 Spring Valley Road, Delhi, will demonstrate an in-barn combination of farm-constructed holding areas and alleys with squeeze chute/scale; and will share an overview of recently incorporated pasture rotation with a low-cost watering system.

There is no cost to attend and those interested may attend one or both to hear from the farmers about why they invested in their system, how they use it, and how it advances their farm goals.
