The Central Catskills Collaborative (CCC) will meet Thursday, Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. at the Delaware & Ulster Railroad in Arkville to continue discussing extension of the Catskill Mountains Scenic Byway.

The public is welcome to this meeting which will be held in a stationary train car. Representatives from the town of Middletown and the villages of Margaretville and Fleischmanns will give presentations on their communities’ qualities as the CCC prepares to update the Corridor Management Plan for the Byway.

The updated plan is to extend the existing Byway (NYS Route 28 from Olive to Andes) to include part of the town of Hurley on State Route 28 in Ulster County, and part of the town of Roxbury on State Route 30 in Delaware County. The extension will also involve a stretch of State Route 30 in Margaretville and Middletown.

Revisions to the Corridor Management Plan will be submitted to the New York State Department of Transportation for review, and ultimately to the NYS Scenic Byway Advisory Board for review and approval.
