A total of 233 SUNY Oneonta students were recognized for academic excellence during the 2025-2026 Susan Sutton Smith event Tuesday, April 7. The Susan Sutton Smith awards are given each spring to first-year students, sophomores and juniors who have earned a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Recognized students from Delaware County include: Adelynn Eckert of Bloomville, majoring in digital & studio art and is a member of the class of 2029; Maxwell Foote of Margaretville, majoring in physics and is a member of the class of 2029; Olivia Hulse of Trout Creek, majoring in adolescence education: social studies and is a member of the class of 2029; Lucille Menke of Delhi, majoring in music industry and is a member of the class of 2026; Chance Molina of Margaretville, majoring in music industry and history and is a member of the class of 2029; Ayden Orezzoli of Sidney, majoring in psychology and is a member of the class of 2028; Hannah Velardi of Walton, majoring in English and is a member of the class of 2029; Sariah Vesterfelt of Walton, majoring in music industry and is a member of the class of 2027; Ashley Komosinski of Delhi has completed an experiential learning project titled “Used Book Drive” at SUNY Oneonta.
Throughout the calendar year, SUNY Oneonta students put their classroom knowledge into action as they complete a wide range of experiential learning projects across every academic discipline. Landon Bowie of Sidney was one of 39 SUNY Oneonta students who received firsthand experience for the future by preparing income tax returns for the community, continuing an annual tradition in Alumni Hall.
Eric Ianniello received Emerson College dean’s list honors for fall 2025 semester. Ianniello of Roxbury is majoring in media arts production. The requirement to make the dean’s list is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.
Isabelle Driscoll of Walton was one of 13 SUNY Oneonta students inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society for the 2025-26 academic year on April 18. Driscoll is studying history and is part of the class of 2026.
Brianna Ginart of Hamden, an illustration major, was named to Montclair State University’s fall 2025 dean’s list.
