There are 740 SUNY Cortland students who earned President’s List honors for the Spring 2026 semester. To qualify for the President’s List, students must earn a grade of A- or better in each of their classes while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.
The honorees included: Kayla Campbell of Franklin, Inclusive Education Childhood; Bailee Herrel of Arkville, Psychology; and Killian Newman of Treadwell, Geology.
SUNY Canton held its 118th Commencement Ceremony for approximately 800 members of the Class of 2026 on Saturday, May 9. This year’s graduates, ranging in age from 18 to 61, represented 21 U.S. states and seven countries, including Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. The most popular bachelor’s degrees awarded were Cybersecurity, Applied Psychology, and Healthcare Management, while the top associate degrees conferred were Nursing, Veterinary Science Technology, and Liberal Arts. Area graduates include: Michael Gavette of Arkville, graduated with their Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Sports Management and Olga Pravdina-Hasbrouck of Walton, graduated with their Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Psychology.
Madison Tobon was named to the Selective Baker-Simpson Entrepreneurial Leadership Program. This immersive internship opportunity, made possible through the continued generosity of Simon Baker ‘93, allowed Tobon of Roxbury, to explore aspirations in and around social entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact.

More than 500 students were named to the Spring 2026 Dean’s List at Russell Sage College.
The following local students made the list: Lauren Cox of Prattsville; Brian Dengler of Hobart; Darren Dengler of Hobart; Sydney Elmendorf of Walton; Shannon Hartwell of Stamford. To be placed on the Dean’s List for the semester, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.50 or higher while carrying a minimum of 12 credits in courses graded A-F, with no grades of Incomplete.
Georgia Lynch of Stamford was one of 57 who earned the Part-time Student Award for Academic Achievement at SUNY Cortland for the Spring 2026 semester. The honor recognizes academic excellence among part-time undergraduate students. Georgia is a Criminology major.
More than 1,700 students were named to the Spring 2026 President’s List at Hudson Valley Community College. The college’s President’s List recognizes students each fall and spring term who earn a term GPA between 3.5 and 4.0 and receive no grades of D, F, I or Z, or their remedial equivalents. Full-time students must successfully complete at least 12 college credits, and part-time students must complete at least six. A grade of W, remedial coursework and previously attempted courses do not disqualify a student as long as all other requirements are met.
