Dave Brandt Chapter of Trout Unlimited Meets April 13

Posted

The next meeting of The Dave Brandt Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be held on Monday, April 13 at the 6th Ward Athletic Club, in Oneonta. This meeting will be our chapter’s annual fly-tying meeting featuring four experienced fly tyers tying a number of different fly patterns.

All members and guests are invited and encouraged to attend the meeting. Everyone will have the opportunity to tie flies and/or observe an experienced fly-tyer create a masterpiece. There will be four tables set up, each with fly tying vises, tools & materials available for any member to try their hand at tying a fly or two. Each table will feature a TU chapter member experienced in fly tying, acting as an instructor. Members can observe, ask questions, or jump right in and tie some flies. This is a great opportunity to possibly learn some new fly-tying tricks, or even to embark on a new hobby.

There will be a brief meeting prior to the fly-tying activities and refreshments will be available. It should be an enjoyable evening with good conversation and many “true” fishing tales being told. One of our prestigious TU members & fly-tying instructors, Roy Bartoo, has requested that if anyone has any yellow marabou feathers for fly-tying, to please bring it to the meeting. Now, you will have to guess the name of the fly he will be tying with those yellow marabou feathers! Come to the meeting and find out.
