DCHA announces June day trip to Hyde Park landmarks

DELHI — The Delaware County Historical Association will host a spring day trip on June 11, offering participants a blend of culinary experience and Gilded Age history along the Hudson River.

The excursion will take visitors to the Culinary Institute of America, where guests will tour portions of the campus and dine at its Italian restaurant, Ristorante Caterina de’ Medici. The meal, a three-course lunch prepared by student chefs, will be served in a Tuscan-style setting overlooking the Hudson River and surrounding gardens.

Following lunch, the group will visit the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site for a guided tour of the estate. Designed to reflect the opulence of early 20th-century high society, the mansion includes roughly 18 rooms across three floors and offers access to its landscaped grounds. The site is equipped with a chairlift at the entrance and an elevator serving all levels of the home.

The trip marks the organization’s first fundraising outing of 2026. Tickets are priced at $170 for members and $190 for nonmembers, with proceeds supporting the association’s programs. The cost includes transportation, admission fees and lunch.

Reservations are required by May 1. Buses will depart from Oneonta at 7 a.m. and Delhi at 7:30 a.m., with return times estimated for early evening.
