Delaware Academy: voters approve capital project upgrades

Turf field donation did not require a vote

DELHI - Following a special vote on April 16, voters in the Delaware Academy at Delhi School district approved athletic field upgrades to the lower field including dugouts and a backstop for softball, stadium lighting, resurfacing of the track, and other improvements by a vote of 479 to 229.

“We are grateful to our community for their continued support of our schools, students, and families,” the school’s website said. “The success of this project vote will incorporate the generous donation of a new multipurpose field from the Clark family.”

The proposition authorized athletic field upgrades at a maximum estimated cost of $3,100,000, which did not include the donation of synthetic turf installation from Clark Companies. A public vote was not needed for the district to accept the donation of from Clark Companies.
