Delaware County Youth Bureau Opens 2026-27 Funding Applications

DELHI — Delaware County Youth Bureau is accepting applications through Sept. 30 for 2026-27 funding for youth sports, education and development programs.

Funding is available through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services’ Youth Sports and Education Opportunity Fund, Youth Team Sports allocation and Youth Development Program. Delaware County municipalities, nonprofit youth-serving agencies and community organizations are eligible to apply.

Sports funding covers organized physical activities for youth ages 0 to 17, depending on the program, including fitness activities such as yoga, hiking, dance, karate and outdoor recreation. Youth development funding supports a broad range of programs for children and teenagers.

Priority will be given to programs serving under-resourced communities. Eligible expenses include coaches and instructors, equipment, uniforms, registration fees and other program costs. Up to 15% of funding may be used for administrative and overhead expenses.

Applicants must serve Delaware County youth and meet requirements related to governance, financial management, child protection and participant data collection. Organizations must be recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or qualify as community-based organizations.
