Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society to Celebrate 58th Year

The Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society (DOAS)’s annual charter dinner will be held Friday, Oct. 16, as they celebrate their 58th year. The event will take place at the banquet room of the Sixth Ward Athletic Club, 22 West Broadway, Oneonta, catered by Bella Michael’s Restaurant. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour, formal welcome at 6 p.m., buffet dinner at 6:15 p.m., and the special program at 7:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available.

As in the past, a “flock” of bird-themed charter raffle items and door prizes will be presented. Tickets for the charter raffle are available at www.doas.us and will also be sold at the the Hawkwatch open house at the DOAS Sanctuary on Oct. 3. Charter raffle winners are not required to be present at the dinner.

Keynote speaker for the evening will be Dr. Lauren Sultaire, who will speak about the geographical aspects of bird conservation. The program will be a part of the in-person charter dinner event, but anyone may attend on Zoom, free of charge. Due to space limitations at the live event, in-person attendance for the program portion will not be possible.
