DELHI - At The Cannon Free Library, outdated magazines and worn hardcovers will not be headed for the recycling bin — at least not before one last act of transformation.
On Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to noon, the library will host what it cheerfully describes as an “awkwardly-named Collage-Papercraft-Altered Book Workshop,” a two-hour session devoted to cutting, tearing, bending, folding and gluing paper into new forms.
Participants will have access to a stash of discarded books and magazines, along with the tools and materials needed to create collages, mini journals or sculptural altered books. The emphasis, organizers say, is on experimentation and play — giving old pages a second life through art.
Because hot glue guns and utility knives will be in use, the workshop is intended for adults and mature teens.
The event is free and open to the public.
