DELHI - With spring cleanup underway, village officials have outlined a seasonal schedule for the collection of brush, lawn debris and leaves, urging residents to follow placement rules to keep roads clear and operations running smoothly.
Beginning April 6, brush and lawn debris will be collected every Monday starting at 6 a.m. and continuing through Oct. 12. Leaves will be picked up on the same weekly schedule through Nov. 23.
Materials should be placed at the curb only over the weekend preceding pickup - not earlier - and must not be left in the roadway, where they can create safety hazards.
Brush must be no more than six inches in diameter, free of dirt and stones, and separated from other debris. Grass clippings and smaller materials should be placed in containers, which will not be removed.
Leaves must also be kept separate and secured to prevent them from blowing into the street.
