Deposit-Hancock Stars Headline All-State Softball Honors; MAC Recognizes Season’s Best

Deposit-Hancock’s standout season continued to earn recognition after the New York State Sportswriters Association announced its 2026 All-State softball teams, with two Lady Eagles landing First Team honors and several other area athletes receiving statewide accolades.

Senior Ivy Tice capped a dominant season by earning Class C First Team All-State honors, while teammate Kadyn Appley also was named to the First Team. Bainbridge-Guilford’s Alessandra Cafasso received Second Team recognition, and Deposit-Hancock’s Victoria Green was selected to the Third Team.

In Class D, Windham-Ashland-Jewett’s Hannah Tuttle was named the Class D Co-Player of the Year after an outstanding campaign that also earned her First Team All-State honors. Afton’s Jenna Wilson and Charlotte Valley/Schenevus’ Brinlee Wright were named to the Second Team, while Windham-Ashland-Jewett teammates Piper Cohane and Kylie Jordan, along with Cherry Valley-Springfield’s Bailey Thayer, earned Third Team recognition.

Windham-Ashland-Jewett also collected one of the state’s top coaching honors as Nate Hoyt was selected Class D Co-Coach of the Year.

Locally, Deposit-Hancock’s Ivy Tice was also voted the Midstate Athletic Conference’s Most Valuable Player after leading the Lady Eagles to another successful season.

The MAC First Team featured representatives from across the league, including Makenna Schultz and Jenna Wilson of Afton; Alessandra Cafasso, Breanna Casey, Brenna George and Jayslin Henderson of Bainbridge-Guilford; Kinsley Tracy and Rebecca Verspoor of Delhi; Kadyn Appley, Olivia Johnston and Aubrey Smith of Deposit-Hancock; Ahraya Whitt of Greene; Emily Kane of Harpursville; Lily Marshman of Oxford; Alexis Mott of Sidney; Avery James of Unatego; and Addalyn Strub of Walton/Downsville.

Second Team honors went to Emilie Hopkins, Adleigh Noone and Rylee Rupakus of Afton; Kaylin Ferguson and Victoria Suda of Bainbridge-Guilford; Lexi Davis and Grace Reynolds of Delhi; Haley Begeal and Pagen Macumber of Deposit-Hancock; Mia Yahner of Greene; Lainey and Rylan Steinbrecher of Harpursville; Abby Stone of Oxford; Trinity Lowe and Teagan Stanton-Helms of Sidney; Madison Anderson of Unadilla Valley/G-MU; Chloe Stilson of Unatego; and Tehya Colao of Walton/Downsville.

The conference also recognized 19 players with Honorable Mention accolades. Those honored were Kadence Racine, Megan Racine, McKenna Ross and Miranda Schultz of Afton; Hope Blackman and Emma Kinter of Bainbridge-Guilford; Alexia White of Delhi; Leah Braun of Deposit-Hancock; Deirdre Colgan of Greene; Tamryn Roys of Harpursville; Elizabeth Vincent of Oxford; Melora Artis, Dylan Casey, Maddox Johnson and Onaka Stanton-Helms of Sidney; Gabriella Ilarraza of Unadilla Valley/G-MU; Brooke Benson and Gracie Tilt of Unatego; and Madison Hoffman of Walton/Downsville.

Unadilla Valley/G-MU received the conference’s Sportsmanship Award in recognition of exemplary conduct throughout the season.
