DELHI - Visit the Delaware County Historical Association (DCHA) on Saturday, Jan. 27 for an afternoon of sundry and delectable delights. At 2 p.m. members of the museum staff will begin reading from a variety of historic diaries, letters and other narratives – all drawn from the museum’s collections – and spanning the years from the 1780s to the 1950s. While guests relax and listen to the readings, enjoy an array of sumptuous desserts. Tea and coffee will also be served.

Excerpts that will be presented include those penned by: Ebenezer Foote (Revolutionary War), Laura Sherwood (Delhi), James Thompson (Bovina/Roxbury), Ebenezer Lindsley (Downsville), William Sines (Civil War), Stephen Churchill (Stamford), George Bailey (Spanish-American War), Andrew Brower (Roxbury), Anna Redfield (Franklin), and Lillian Young Murray (Hamden).

The event is highly suited for those looking to spend an afternoon having fun while learning more about our ancestors who once lived in Delaware County. To enjoy this delectable and – dare we say it, decadent – afternoon, reserve your space by Jan. 24. Cost is $10 per person.

Call DCHA at 607-746-3849 or e-mail dchadelhi@gmail.com to reserve or for more information. We are located two miles north of the village of Delhi at 46549 State Route 10.
