DOWNSVILLE - The Downsville Covered Bridge over the East Branch of the Delaware River has been closed to all through traffic after structural deficiencies were identified, county officials announced May 14.
The closure is effective immediately and will remain in place for the foreseeable future while the bridge is evaluated and officials determine next steps. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. No timetable for reopening has been announced.
