DVH hosts annual Teddy Bear Clinic

WALTON - UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (DVH) hosted local students for its annual Teddy Bear Clinic on Tuesday, May 21. Approximately 115 second grade students from Walton, Downsville, Roscoe, Livingston Manor, and Hancock visited the hospital to learn about healthcare in a fun and interactive way.

The children brought their stuffed animals to each department and helped participate in their care with DVH staff. The educational event gives students the opportunity to become familiar with the hospital and the equipment used, with the goal of reducing potential anxiety if they or a loved one were to need care.

Walton EMS, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, and LifeNet of New York also stopped by to take part in the event. They provided tours of their equipment and performed demonstrations for the children.
