The most needed item in homeless shelters is socks. But socks are the one thing that is donated the least. Learning this, United Health Services Delaware Valley Hospital staff took up the cause and over a few weeks collected 357 pairs of socks that were delivered to Delaware Opportunities in Hamden. Delaware Opportunities operates several programs that assist residents needing clothing.
The socks range of color, type and size: from baby socks to heavy, warm socks for men.
