Ellen Berg died April 26, 2026 at hospice with her beloved husband Joe Teixeira by her side.
She was born Feb. 12, 1950, in the Andes/Margaretville area and loved growing up in the Catskills of Delaware County. She attended SUNY Oneonta. She enjoyed working at Kass Inn with its family atmosphere and worked at many diners and medical offices in Westchester County. Mount Kisco became her home base. She loved limericks and enjoyed creating some for the amusement of her many friends.
Her interests included theater, movies, music of all kinds and she played the clarinet beautifully. She traveled to Austria, Germany, France, Greece and Brazil, her husband’s home country. On her own, she traveled to Foz de Iguacu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site and many other places in Brazil, including traveling on the Amazon River, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the tropical forests.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents Adele and Kaare Berg and her sisters Patricia, Linda and Lise.
She is survived by her husband Joe, brother Paul Berg (Donna DeLucca), sister Kathy Berg (Ed Fersch), brothers-in-law Steve Brown and Jon Meads, nieces Kristina Brown, Alisa Fersch, Amanda Berg, and Maria Berg, nephew Gabriel Fersch, and many cousins.
