MARGARETVILLE - Fairview Public Library is seeking community members interested in serving on its board of trustees. The nine member board currently has one vacancy and is also interested in hearing from community members who may be interested in serving as trustees in the future.
Serving as a library trustee is an opportunity to contribute to the future of the library and the community. Trustees help shape library policies and strategic plans while supporting the library through events, financial development, public relations, and advocacy.
The board meets at the Fairview Public Library on the second Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m., with special meetings as needed. Trustees are volunteers and are expected to attend monthly meetings and participate in occasional events, library programs, and continuing education.
Trustees must be eligible to vote, reside in the Margaretville Central School District, and have an interest in public service.
Community members interested in learning more are encouraged to contact the Library Director or a current trustee, attend a board meeting, or complete a trustee application.
The trustee application and information about trustee responsibilities are available at fairviewlibrary.org under About → Board, or at the library.
For more information, contact Fairview Public Library at 845-586-3791 or email director@fairviewlibrary.org
The library welcomes community members interested in helping support and shape the future of Fairview Public Library to learn more and consider serving as a trustee.
