STAMFORD — Families and friends can spend an afternoon making art together during a new collaborative workshop offered by the Roxbury Arts Group.
“Family Collaborative Canvas” will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Headwaters Arts Center, 66 Main St.
Participants will work together on a 36-by-36-inch mixed-media canvas, creating a shared piece of artwork without a prescribed design or finished product in mind. The workshop is intended as both a creative activity and an opportunity to make memories with family and friends.
Materials will include paint, ink, collage materials, sequins, stitching and pastels. Participants also are encouraged to bring personal items that can be incorporated into the artwork.
No previous art experience is required. Staff will be available to offer guidance, but the emphasis will be on experimentation and enjoying the process.
The workshop uses tiered pricing of $25, $45 or $75 per group. The structure allows participants to select a price based on their circumstances while helping support the Roxbury Arts Group’s programming. The $45 level represents the actual cost of the workshop, while the $75 level helps make programs more accessible at the $25 level.
