FRANKLIN — The Franklin Improvement Society is once again inviting residents to turn their gardens — and their generosity — into lasting community improvements.
The group will host its annual “Plants, Etc. Sale” on Sunday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin Farmers’ Market, 25 Institute Street. Proceeds from the sale will support plantings and ongoing maintenance at Franklin Memorial Park and along the Edible Walking Trail, as well as other local beautification efforts.
Organizers are seeking donations ahead of the event, with a wide range of garden-related items welcome: perennials and annuals, houseplants, trees and shrubs, seeds and seedlings, as well as gardening books, tools, containers and decorative pieces. Donated plants should be labeled with their common names.
Items may be dropped off at the market the morning of the sale between 8:30 and 10 a.m. Those unable to deliver donations can arrange pickup by contacting a member of the Improvement Society, reaching out via Facebook, or emailing franklinisny@gmail.com
