Wintertime is the most difficult time to keep calves healthy.  With fewer treatment options available, proper nutrition is more important than ever before as it is the best defense against disease.  This workshop, held at Clark Farms, 2899 Elk Creek Road in Delhi, on

Wednesday, Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. will explore feeding strategies to ensure that your calves ‘hit the ground running.’

No Cost to Attend, Light lunch served. Speakers include: Dr. Trent Westhoff, Cornell University – Managing colostrum to maximize its health benefits from collection to feeding; Lindsay Ferlito, Cornell Pro-Dairy - Tubing demonstration on Calf Model & Intro to F.A.R.M.; and Dr. Mike Van Amburgh, Cornell University – Milk replacer, whole milk, and starter.  Choosing feedstuffs which are right for your herd, and developing feeding strategies to optimize growth.
