STAMFORD - At Headwaters Arts Center this December, the focus is less on online carts and more on handmade hearts.
The center, operated by the Roxbury Arts Group, will host “Homemade Holidays,” a three-part series of free community crafting events at 66 Main Street, Stamford, offering residents a chance to step into an older tradition of holiday gift-making.
Workshops will be held on:
Each session will feature a different project, beginning with felt ornaments and continuing with custom gift wrap before culminating in an unconventional gingerbread house workshop.
The final event on Dec. 20 will be part of Headwaters’ holiday party, open to all ages, with snacks, drinks and multiple craft stations designed to keep hands busy and screens at bay.
The series, they added, is meant to offer a simple, creative way to celebrate winter and add something handmade to the holiday season.
