DELHI - The Honest Brook Music Festival will open its 38th summer season on July 11, presenting four Sunday afternoon concerts of classical solo and chamber music in a restored historic dairy barn outside the village of Delhi.
All performances begin at 4 p.m. Tickets are $100 for the full series or $30 per concert and are available at hbmf.org
The season opens July 11 with the Frisson Quartet, an oboe-and-strings ensemble led by artistic director Tom Gallant. The group has quickly established a national profile, with appearances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Marlboro Music Festival.
On July 18, the festival presents pianist Kiron Atom Tellian, a recipient of the Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize. Known for a performance style praised for its clarity and imagination, he has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and venues across Europe.
The Aug. 2 concert features saxophonist Estel Vivó Casanovas, performing with piano accompaniment to be announced. A native of Barcelona, she is a winner of the 2022 Young Concert Artists Susan B. Wadsworth Auditions and first prize at the 2024 Manhattan International Competition. Her performances have included Carnegie Hall and Catalan radio broadcasts, and she has helped expand the visibility of classical saxophone repertoire to new audiences.
The season concludes Aug. 9 with Trio Azura, a piano trio that has rapidly emerged on the chamber music circuit. Winners of the 2024 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the ensemble went on to win the 2025 Young Concert Artists Susan B. Wadsworth Auditions and now serves as Young Concert Artists Jacobs Fellows and ensemble-in-residence at the Colburn School in Los Angeles. Critics have described the group’s performances as marked by “intelligence and imagination” and “profound emotion.”
