The Honest Brook Music Festival announces its 38th summer season featuring four concerts by outstanding, award-winning musicians performing classical solo and chamber music. The concerts are located in a restored historic dairy barn located outside the village of Delhi in the western Catskills. All concerts are at 4 p.m., and tickets may be purchased online at hbmf.org Tickets are $100 for the series of four concerts, and $30 for individual concerts.
The series opens Saturday, July 11, with the Frisson Quartet, featuring music for oboe, violin, viola and cello. Under the artistic direction of Tom Gallant, Frisson has rapidly ascended to become one of the nation’s most sought-after chamber groups. They have performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Marlboro Music Festival among other celebrated venues.
The second concert Saturday, July 18 features exciting young pianist Kiron Atom Tellian. Winner of the Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize, he is praised for his artistry, imagination, and commanding presence at the keyboard. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and throughout Europe.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, the festival presents the superb saxophonist Estel Vivó Casanovas. She won the 2022 Young Concert Artists Susan B. Wadsworth auditions, aND first prize at the 2024 Manhattan International Competition. She has performed at Carnegie Hall and on Catalan radio and although solo classical saxophone music may be new to some concert-goers, audiences have been dazzled by her energy and artistry.
The series concludes Sunday, Aug. 9 with Trio Azura, winners of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2024. In 2025, they won the Young Concert Artists Susan B. Wadsworth Auditions, and were appointed Young Concert Artists Jacobs Fellows. They are also the Ensemble-in-Residence at the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles.
