Janice I. Hoag, 83, passed away Monday March 24, 2025, at A.O. Fox Memorial Nursing Home. Janice was born on May 17, 1941, in Walton, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Budine) Burghart.
Janice was a lifelong child daycare manager. She also worked at many various jobs touching many lives. She was a member of the Pines Brook Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Oneonta and Bainbridge. Janice loved her grandchildren and spent every moment she could with them. She enjoyed being outside, especially taking care of her garden. Janice planted a variety of vegetables to be able to can them to enjoy all winter long.
Janice is survived by her daughter Denise (Jamie) Page; son Daniel (Leila) Wormuth; son Michael (Heather) Wormuth; stepchildren Leticia Bush, Edward (Shawna) Hoag and Cheryl (Wayne) Cotton; brother Robert (Rita) Burghart; sister-in-law Dorothy Dibble; nine grandchildren: Todd (Allison) Harmon, Greg (Alicia) Harmon, Cody, Brianna, Collen, Corey, Nicholas, Sean, Ayana and Samantha; great-grandchildren Emmy and Matson Harmon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Richard; son Roy William Wormuth; brothers William Burghart, Raymond Burghart and Roy Burghart.
A graveside serve will take place Sunday, June 8, at 1: p.m. at Hillington Cemetery, State Highway 23, Morris.
