WALTON - The Music on the Delaware coffeehouse series will close its 2025-26 season May 31 with a performance by the Loren Daniels Trio at the Walton Theatre.
The free concert, rescheduled from May 17, will run from 6 to 8 p.m., with donations accepted. Desserts and drinks will be available.
The trio - pianist and vocalist Loren Daniels, bassist Lou Pappas and drummer Joe Damone — blends jazz standards with interpretations of rock, R&B and pop songs, including music by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Smokey Robinson, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder and The Beatles.
Daniels, a composer, lyricist and educator, recently released the album Ticket to Ride. Pappas performs in both jazz and classical circles and serves as principal bass for the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra. Damone, a longtime bandleader and performer, has appeared with artists including Stanley Turrentine, Phyllis Hyman and Chuck Berry.
The concert marks the end of the organization’s regular Walton Theatre season, though one final event remains: Porchfest, scheduled for June 6 throughout Walton. More information is available at musiconthedelaware.org
