BAINBRIDGE - The Jericho Arts Council Gallery, tucked inside the second floor of Bainbridge Town Hall at 15 North Main Street, is midway through a winter and spring schedule that moves from intimate portraiture to a regional student showcase before culminating in a spirited outdoor public art installation this April.

The season opened in January with the work of Kathy Smith. February brings Danielle Haney, who took top honors at the Fine Arts Show 2025 and whose graphite and colored pencil portraits carry what the council describes as a whimsical sensibility. Ms. Haney’s work will be on view Feb. 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. The gallery, which charges no admission, is also open one hour before performances in the Town Hall Theatre and remains open at least through intermission. A full schedule of upcoming artists is available at jerichoarts.com

On March 7, the gallery will open its 18th annual Area Student Art Showcase, drawing work from exceptional students across seven regional high schools: Bainbridge-Guilford, Afton, Greene, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton, Oxford, Sidney and Unatego. An opening reception is scheduled for 1 p.m. that Saturday, with evening hours from 6 to 9 p.m. The show continues Monday through Friday, March 9 through 13, from 2 to 5 p.m., and closes with a final viewing Saturday, March 21, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The council is also issuing a call for artists for its 45th annual Fine Arts Show, set to run April 25 through May 9. The juried exhibition accepts work in four categories: oil and acrylic paintings; watercolor and gouache; drawings, graphics and mixed media; and three-dimensional works. Both professional and amateur artists are encouraged to apply. Prospectuses are available on the council’s website and in the gallery. Questions may be directed to show chair Elise Craver at 607-222-1839 or jacgallery15@gmail.com

And come April, the streetscape of North and West Main streets will be transformed. The 11th iteration of the Bainbridge Arts Trail — this year titled Regatta Row 2026 and presented with support from the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce — will place adult- and child-size Adirondack-style canoe paddle chairs outdoors along those corridors from April 22 through May 22. Sixteen artists are currently at work painting and embellishing the chairs; they will be live-auctioned May 23 at General Clinton Park. A People’s Choice vote and online auction information will be available at jerichoarts.com Inquiries may be sent to jacarttrail@gmail.com
