Jody Gula died peacefully at his home in Fulton Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 62. He decided it was his time to join his late wife Beth Gula, deceased May 2, 2026.
He was born at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, July 6, 1963, and was the fifth child of the late John Gula Jr. and Sylvia (Frustieri) Gula. Jody grew up in Bloomville and graduated from South Kortright Central School in 1981. He attended Bowman Technical School and worked for many years in Syracuse as a jeweler and diesel mechanic.
Jody opened Gula’s Clock Shop in 1997 and has since restored time to hundreds of people within his community. When Jody wasn’t busy working on timepieces, he was an avid gardener, antique car collector, tinkerer, craftsman, and skilled mechanic. Jody could fix anything he put his mind to, and his knowledge will be missed by many.
Jody is predeceased by his wife, Beth (Thomas) Gula; his parents John Gula Jr. and Sylvia (Frustieri) Gula; his older sister Lilly Gula, and younger brother Jay Gula.
He is survived by his older siblings Silvia Gula, John Gula III, and Marsha (Gula) Hayward; his children Andrew Pearce and wife Catalina Charles, and daughter Darian Charles; Jared Gula, and Jody’s 1978 mint green 425 Big Block V8 Cadillac De Ville d’Elegance; Gwendoline (Gula) Rosekrans and husband Craig White, and their daughters Avery Rosekrans, Leighton Rosekrans, and Sonia White; and his stepchildren Phillip and Jax Cobb.
A funeral service was held Friday, May 29, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.
