Yes, it is time to vote for president and this is a very contentious time. We have heard it all during this disparaging season from the candidates and their supporters to include: encouraging plans and hopeful promises, to misleading statements and distortions. In my view the first amendment allows a lot. But we are much better off with the amendment than without it. Though the background noise is distracting, many choose to vote, thank God.
To vote is to help preserve our democracy. For my part I review the Declaration of Independence, a seminal part being “…That all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
With that baseline belief in mind I question which candidate will more likely honor and govern in accord with this belief. Then I vote.
