Lewis Demmon Protheroe, 94, passed away Oct. 5, 2025, at the Robinson Terrace Rehab & Nursing Home in Stamford.
Lewis was born in Walton, son of the late Henry Demmon and Esther E. Alverson Demmon Protheroe.
Lewis grew up in Sidney Center; he attended Sidney Central School and graduated from the class of 1951. He attended Delhi Technical College, excelling in the trade and field.
Lew was employed by Amphenol Aerospace for 40+ years in various capacities. He was also a member of the local IAU Union.
Lew was a dedicated sport fan, especially the Brooklyn Dodgers (Los Angeles Dodgers.) He enjoyed bowling and participated in many leagues. Summers found Lew and his brother Winfield at local fairs, especially the Delaware County Fair in Walton. While living in Walton in his later tears, Lew enjoyed Wednesdays at “Our Place,” a program for senior citizens. He also attended The Assembly of God Church in Walton for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Robert and Winfield, and his niece, Rita.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Ave., Walton. Pastor Christine Lindeberg will be officiating the service.
