MARGARETVILLE — Residents, business owners, property owners and community organizations will have an opportunity Aug. 27 to weigh in on plans for the future of downtown Margaretville as part of the village’s NY Forward initiative.
A public workshop is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Margaretville Telephone Company, 61 Academy St. The session will begin with a brief presentation, followed by an interactive discussion focused on the draft vision, goals and strategies for downtown.
The project team has also extended its call for proposed projects through Sept. 13. Property owners, businesses, nonprofit organizations and other interested applicants are encouraged to submit projects intended to strengthen downtown and support the local economy.
Residents can also contribute ideas online through two new tools: an Ideas Wall for general comments and priorities, and an interactive map where users can identify specific downtown locations and provide feedback.
The project team is encouraging residents to share the workshop and online opportunities with neighbors, businesses and community organizations.
